YANKEES win!! The Yankees have defeated the Royals 7-6 in extra innings on a walk off by Austin Romine!! The Yankees take the series win 3-1 and advance to 11-10 on the season making it the first time they reached over .500 on the new season! The offense was fantastic today and so was James Paxton!! Let’s go through it shall we??

The Yankees got on the board early when DJ LeMahieu scored on a wild pitch in the first. The following inning, Mike Ford delivered on his first MLB hit doubling to left. Austin Romine (a name you won’t only hear once today) knocked Ford in with a single extending the Yankee lead to 2-0. Fast forward to the 5th inning and Clint Frazier launched a 3 run home run to center! Continuing his recent tear.

All seemed to be going smoothly until the 8th inning- when disaster struck. Chad Green and Atam Ottavino blew the big lead and by the end of the Royals half of the 8th, they had a 6-5 lead. But in the bottom half of the inning, Austin Romine (😉) tied the game right back up with a single to left.

In the bottom of the 10th inning, with men on second and third, Austin Romine delivered with the walk off hit! And the Yankees won 7-6!! What a great game for the Yankees backup catcher!!

James Paxton was brilliant once again today! Big maple struck out 12 today giving him a total of 24 punch outs in 2 straight outings! He went 6 innings of shout-out ball allowing just three hits! Paxton is the only Yankee pitcher ever to record 12 strikeouts and zero earned runs in 2 straight games!! Pure dominance!!

The Yankees will look to keep it going tomorrow on the west coast in LA as the depleted Yankees take on Mike Trout and the Angels!
