Yankees sweep O's in two game set
By Brandon B
Series recap:

The Yankees swept both games of the double header with Baltimore and swept this short series with their division foe.
Game one- Yankees 5 Orioles 3
After a quick home run in the top of the first inning by the O's the Yankees responded quickly with a home run of their own off the bat of Gary Sanchez as he launched on 443 ft off the bat over right center field to tie the game at one. In the 2nd inning, Gleyber Torres sent one out tying the game at 2 after the Os struck again in their half of the second inning. Cameron Maybin then gave the Yankees the lead later in the inning with a home run making it 3-2 Yanks! The Orioles then tied the game up AGAIN in the 4th, but there was no reason for you to worry, Gleyber Torres did it again hitting a home run to left field making it 4-3 Yankees! Tauchman then singled in a run later in the inning extending the Yankee lead to 5-3!
J.A. Happ was serviceable. He threw 5.1 innings of work, allowing three earned runs on 5 hits and striking out 3. The bullpen was phenomenal today all combing to allow 0 earned runs! Ottavino, Kahnle, Britton and Chapman got the job done and kept the Yankees in the lead for the rest of the game following the Gleyber Torres go ahead home run!
Game 2
Yankees 3 Orioles 1
The Yankees kept the momentum going after their game 1 W and continued it into game 2. With the help of "ace?" Domingo German, the Yankees took game 2 and completed the sweep of the AL easts worst Baltimore Orioles.
The bats were more quiet in this one as the Yankees were only able to scrap together a few runs. But those runs were just enough to fend of the O's. The Yankees picked up their first run of the game after Luke Voit doubled home DJ Lemahieu making it 1-0. Then in the 4th, Gleyber Torres lauched a home run making it 2-0! That sounds familiar! Probably becuase that was Gleybers 3rd home run of the day! The Yankees wouldn't score again until the 7th inning when Luke Voit singled home Estrada. Hopefully this is the start of Luke Voit hitting again!

The real story of the day was Domingo German! Hes pitching like an ace and has been a savior to this rotation with the absence of Luis Severino and now James Paxton. German threw 7 frames of 1 run ball allowing 6 hits and striking out 8! A masterful preformance and this game netted him a league leading 8th win of the year! Britton and Chapman shut em down in the 8th and 9th to secure the win! And the Yankee sweep!
The Yankees pick up an important 2 wins vs the Orioles who are in the celler of the AL east. With the Redsox heating up and the Rays playing quality baseball, the Yankees need to take advantage of these weaker teams and that is exactly what they did! They remain a half game out of the AL east behind the Rays who they play next!
