Yankees shutout the White Sox break 4 game losing streak
The Yankees got a much needed win today as they broke a 4 game losing streak with a 4-0 win over the Chicago White Sox.
The Yankee offense wasn't anything to write home about but it still got the job done. No player in particular really had an out of the world game but Judge did homer. Voit, Higashioka and Wade all added RBIs to the winning effort.
The Yankee pitching was absolutely dominant today. CC who made his season debut threw 5 shut out innings and only allowed one hit. Domingo German picked up his third win of the year with a dominate 2 innings of relief, he didn't allow a single base runner and struck out 4. Britton had an easy 1-2-3 8th inning and Chapman followed that up with a scoreless 9th to close out the White Sox and give the Yankees a 4-0 win.
The entire game was a pitchers duel with no scoring till the 7th inning when the Yankees got on the board. Luke Voit drove Gleyber Torres in with an infield single to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead. Higashioka kept the scoring going when he drove in Greg Bird with a sac fly. Later in the inning Tyler Wade drove in a run on a sacrifice to give the Yankees a 3-0 lead.
Judge hit a solo shot in the 8th to put the Yanks up 4-0 and that would be all the Yankees needed.
Chaman closed out the White Sox to lock up the 4-0 win.
The Yankees will play the White Sox tomorrow at 1:05 PM ET as they look to continue their winning ways and take 2 out of 3 from the Sox.
