Yankees power their way to a comfortable win vs the Ms

YANKEES WIN!! The Yankees defeat the Mariners 7-3!! CC was solid tonight and the bats came alive to drop 7 on the Ms!

Voit came shooting out of the gates early hitting a 2 run shot in the first inning! Gardner added on in the 2nd hitting a solo home run of his own making it 3-0! Then later in the inning, Thiro Estrada hit his first big league home run scoring Urshela making it 5-0! This dug the Mariners into a hole that would be too steep to climb out of. Urshela made it 6-0 with a single in the 3rd. The Ms got on the board for the first time in the 4th and then again in the 5th. But it wasn’t enough.

CC went 5 innings tonight allowing 3 ER walking 3 and striking out 5. A decent day from the veteran left hander. Boone then handed the game to the bullpen where Holder, Ottavino, Britton and Cessa all combined to allow zero earned runs throughout the rest of the game! Great day for the bullpen which has been struggling this season.

Game 2 of this set will continue tomorrow at Yankee stadium staring at 6:35 PM EST!
