The Yankees are coming off a tough series loss to the Blue Jays yesterday. The Yanks did end on a win and will look to carry that into their new series with the Indians.

Game 1 Friday June 7th

Pitcher Preview

It will be a matchup between Domingo German and Zach Plesac. German has looked a little shaky of late and will look to improve in this start. Plesac hasn’t had many opportunities to pitch(he’s only thrown 12 innings) but he‘s made the most of his opportunities as he’s pitched to the tune of a 1.46 ERA.

Keys to the game

Get back to the old you: Domingo German was one of the top pitchers for the first 2 month of the season. However of late he’s looked a little unsure so if he can get back to the old German the Yanks will be in business.

Just hit: Plesac isn’t proven at all so the Yanks should just got out and do their thing, it’s worked all the year so don’t change!

Game 2 Saturday June 8th

Pitcher Preview

CC will take the mound and face off with Adam Plutko. Plutko is another Indian's pitcher who hasn't had many opportunities to pitch(he has only 11 innings pitched) and in those limited chances Plutko has an ERA over 6.35. CC has had a very productive year to this point, he has an ERA under 4.

Keys to the game

Limit the home run: CC has given up 13 home runs this year if he can stop that things will bode will for him. CC is also pitching in progressive field which is a pitcher friendly park so that will definitely help prevent homers.

Put the ball in play: Plutko has allowed more hits than innings pitched this season, so if the Yanks can just put the ball in play they should be in business

Game 3 Sunday June 9th

Pitcher Preview

This could potentially be the premiere start of the series as Tanaka and Shane Bieber face off in the series finale! Bieber has almost an identical ERA to Tanaka, but Bieber has 90 strikeouts in 75 innings while Tanaka has only 67 strikeouts in 76 innings. So Bieber has a strikeout advantage but Tanaka has only allowed 11 home runs while Bieber has allowed 15. Both pitchers are very even so this could be a great game.

Keys to the game

Stop the big inning: This will be a competivtive game so every run counts and Tanaka has to try and prevent a big inning from putting the Yankees out of the game.

Just make contact: Bieber has a knack for the strikeout so the Yanks have to try and combat that and put the ball in play.

Location: Progressive Field

First Pitch: 1;10 PM ET

If the Yanks have a good series they could bounce back from a tough series loss to the lowly Blue Jays and put some distance between themselves and the Rays.
