Yankee bats are quiet in CC’s historic night
By Brandon B
The Diamondbacks take down the Yankees 3-1 in a low scoring affair. CC pitched very solid but had no run support to back him up. Sabathia went 5.1 innings allowing just 2 runs and 5 strikeouts. And those strikeouts helped CC complete an amazing career accomplishment of 3,000 strikeouts! What an amazing career from the big left hander and has shown he’s always player a vital part in this rotation since 2009 when they won the World Series.
The offense however did not back up CC on this historic night. There only source of offense came off a Gleyber Torres hit that bounced over the wall for a ground rule double scoring Gary Sanchez. Other than that, the offense was quiet and Zack Greinke was brilliant. Striking out 7 in 7.2 innings and only allowing that one run.
The Yankees will look to bounce back Wednesday against the Diamondbacks at a 3:40 game start time.
