The Yankees defeat the Royals 6-2 to even the series at one

Yankees win!! The Yankees bounced back tonight and evened up the series at one a piece. CC was once again on his best stuff and the offense backed him up! The Yanks took this one 6-2 and really did it all!

After Kansas City capitalized on an error by Luke Voit taking a 1-0 lead in the top half of the 3rd, the Yankees didn’t waste time putting runs on the board themselves. In the bottom half of the inning, Gardner launched a go ahead two run home run to make it 2-1! This isn’t the first time Gardner came up clutch in a situation like this. ;) fast forward to the 5th inning and Mike Tauchman helped to pat the lead hitting a solo shot to right making it 3-1. Then the Yankees went to a little small ball to tack on more runs. DJ LeMahieu was robbed of a hit with the bases loaded by Billy Hamilton but it was still able to score one run on a sac fly. Then Luke Voit was able to score in that same inning from a past ball after a Clint Frazier walk. After a Kyle Higashioka double in the 7th, Tyler Wade laid down a great bunt and after a throwing error by Hunter Dozier, Higashioka scored making it 6-2.

CC was great again in his second start of the new season and this time was able to snag his first W. Sabathia allowed no earned runs and only three hits in 5 innings of work striking out 5. The bullpen came in after and combined only allowed one run throughout the rest of the game.

This is a good win and hopefully the Yankees can keep it up tomorrow vs Kansas City at 1:05!!
