Gardner leads Yankees to series sweep over Red Sox

The Yankees swept the Red Sox with a 5-3 win helped largely by a clutch grand slam from Brett Gardner.
Game Summary
Offense:
The Yankee offense really wasn't all that good tonight for the exception of Gardner and Frazier. Clint Frazier had an especially good game he was 3 for 4 with one run batted in. Frazier is now hitting .333 on the season and has been one of the most consistent performers for the Yankees this season. Gardner was more clutch than anything else. Especially with his go ahead grand slam which was the difference in the game. Clutch hitting was what really helped the Yankees get the win. The Yankees had one huge chance and Gardner made sure the Yankees didn't miss it.

Pitching:
The Yankee pitching was very good today. J.A. Happ had an improved start today he went 6 and a third and allowed 3 runs. It wasn't anything crazy but it was a clear step in the right direction for Happ. Kahnle held the Red Sox at bay and Ottavino almost let the Red Sox back into the game into the 8th but ended up still getting the job done by getting a clutch flyout with the bases loaded and 2 outs. Chapman slammed the door on the Red Sox to lock up the win.
Scoring Summary
The Red Sox got on the board first when J.D. Martinez homered off Happ to put the Sox up 1-0.
Then in the second inning Christian Vasquez hit a 2 run homer to put the Red Sox up 3-0 early
The Yankees would get 1 run back in the 4th when Frazier hit an RBI double to drive Voit home, which made it a 3-1 Boston lead.
In the 7th Gardner would come up with the bases loaded and deliver a go ahead grand slam that would put the Yankees by 2 a lead they wouldn't let go of.
The Yankees will play the Royals tomorrow at 6;35 PM ET as the Yanks look to continue there winning ways.
