4 Reasons the Yankees will win the world series
The New York Yankees are primed and ready to make a deep run to the postseason. Some may think the Red Sox or Astros will win the world series, but here are 4 reasons why the Yankees will win the world series in 2019.
All the major players on the Yankees have experienced a run into October and will know what its like to play playoff baseball. Every major arm in the Yankee bullpen has pitched in the postseason Chapman has even shined on the biggest stage in the world series. All the young bombers have now had experience in the postseason after last year. Torres and Andujar both played last season in the postseason and now know exactly what to expect this year. Some players naturally thrive in the playoffs while others need to get used and now everyone on the Yankee roster knows just what to expect.
Improved Starting Rotation
The Yankees have 3 very solid starters being Sevy, Tanaka and Paxton they would even have 4 if you want to count Happ. This could be a very formidable rotation if Severino overcomes his playoff jitters and Tanaka keeps on being a clutch performer. With Severino at his best he can be one of the best pitchers in baseball and the same can be said for Tanaka and Paxton. If all the starters mentioned live up to their potential this could be a a deadly rotation come postseason time and everyone knows pitching wins championships.
The Yankees can have one of the best bullpens ever assembled. They have pitchers who in the postseason can come out to stop a potential rally in the early inning like Chad Green or Jonathan Holder. There a plenty of big guys for later in the game with Britton, Ottavino and Betances. The Yankees also have one of the best closers in baseball being Aroldis Chapman. The bullpen is something every team needs if they're going to make a deep run in the postseason and the Yankees have one of the best bullpens in baseball.
The Yankees have plenty of star power, both literal and figurative. The two biggest stars are Judge and Stanton but Stanton is still unproven in the postseason. That dosen't mean Stanton won't perform well he just hasn't prove himself. Judge has proved he can perform when the lights are brightest, last postseason Judge hit .421 with 3 home runs and 4 RBIs in 5 postseason games. This is taking your performance to the next level when it matters most. If Didi comes back in time that could be adding another middle of the order bat to an already potent Yankee lineup. Didi also has a history of coming through in the clutch. Getting a big hit when it matter most is one of the most important things to succeed in the playoffs and the Yankees can do this.
